About

SEASON THREE – Our Goals

This season will be similar to last. Our goal this season continues to be to increase the competition level and mimic your club season games or high level high school games. We will continue mixing and matching athletes who play on different club teams and school teams on a Peak session team so athletes can learn to be flexible, versatile and challenge themselves. Our main goal is for athletes to continue developing in the off season.

What is PEAK?

We provide off-season court time and aim to bring athletes from different club teams and school teams together on the court to have scrimmages in a competitive and fast-paced environment.

Who is PEAK for?

Club-level athletes who are looking to grow and advance their level of gameplay. They could have played multiple seasons on their school competitive team and want to face off with club-level athletes to see if they have what it take to try out next season. They should be (at minimum) intermediate to advanced skill level, know positions, and ideally be able to play more than one position.

Why did we start Peak Volleyball?

Outside of school volleyball, club volleyball and summer VB camps, we noticed there was a lack of open gyms or court sessions for youth athletes to be able to play volleyball in the off season. In other sports, like basketball, there’s often “open runs” where athletes can pop in for a day and play with other like-minded athletes and work on their skills while also getting to have scrimmages. While there might be open gyms out there, the skill level tends to be quite mixed – it’s hard to guarantee some good games if you don’t know who you’re playing against or playing with. Some open gyms require you to come with teammates already.

PEAK VOLLEYBALL is structured and organized where athletes who are successfully registered will be put on a team with other athletes, balanced by positions and skill level / experience. We do our best to spread our club players (versus non-club) and try to have kids from different clubs on different teams. Our sessions are also low commitment, where the athletes can register for one standalone session without having to attend multiple sessions throughout the week, or for multiple hours in a day.

Our goal is to provide that valuable court time for volleyball and have a competitive level of gameplay so the athletes can sharpen their skills over the summer and feel ready when it’s time for school tryouts. Our events have a maximum capacity to ensure there’s minimal amount of wait times in between games, and require registration to ensure there’s a confirmed amount of kids to fill both sides of the court. The recommendation of Intermediate to Advanced skill level is to ensure there’s a balance among the kids to be able to make fair teams for the scrimmages.
